Phil + Mary Claire's Chesterfield, Virginia Wedding
October is the new May, or so it has shifted to be over the last few years. And fall weddings have become just as popular as their spring counter parts. Though, don’t be fooled. A fall wedding can have all the outdoor beauty of a spring wedding, with the gorgeous rich tones of fall. Phil + Mary Claire’s celebration is a perfect example of that!
Phil + Mary Claire’s day started off a little bit overcast, a slight chance of rain, but with overall clear weather. This provided the perfect lighting for photos and honestly a big reason why I love fall weddings (overcast days seem far more common in October and November than the spring months).
They had beautiful, simple details, including a hand made mask (by the Mother of the Bride!) that was too pretty to leave out!
Mary Claire decided to do a “First Look” with her dad, which was just so special. To be honest, every time I document a dad tearing up over how beautiful his daughter looks, I get super sentimental too.
Instead of a first look for Phil + Mary Claire, they decided on holding hands, reading letters to each other, and praying for each other.
Phil + Mary Claire had their ceremony take place under a tree with beautiful lanterns. Even in the middle of the day, the lanterns created such a whimsical vibe. Add in all of the beautiful florals and it was a dream.
Phil + Mary Claire personalized their ceremony by having Phil’s brother officiate, having all of the vendors be close friends, and have worship music performed during the ceremony. It was evident that their day was intended to be a reflection of their life together as they embarked on their journey as a married couple.
