Vera + Dans Intimate Quirk Hotel Wedding - Richmond, Virginia
I booked Dan + Vera’s wedding, really not too long before covid hit. It was originally going to be a larger wedding in a different location (like so many covid weddings), but as the summer wore on and the pandemic continued to pose a threat, Dan + Vera decided to pivot to something more intimate... but that wouldn’t be the last of their plans changing.
Originally… well the original plan B at least, was that they were going to say their vows and share dinner with their families on Quirk Hotels GORGEOUS rooftop. It allowed for dreamy lighting and beautiful views of the city. If you’re living in Virginia, however, you know we had a very wet fall.
So we pivoted to an indoor ceremony, that honestly was still so incredibly beautiful. Wedding planner and Florist, Tanya from Starry Night Events, made sure to transform the space into something really spectacular.
I’ll let the photos tell the rest of the story.
Vera wore 2 dresses for her wedding. Her ceremony dress was a beautiful ivory and lace gown, while her reception dress was a traditional red wedding Saree.
We got to have a little bit of time on the rooftop (indoors) before the ceremony, which was a nice compromise to the original plan!
In order for all of Vera + Dans friends and family to watch them get married, they opted to have their ceremony broadcast via zoom. You can see the couple going up and greeting their virtual guests in the last image above.
While the digital alternatives may seem odd or out of place to some, without a doubt these photographs will serve as a visual reminder of 2020 and all the obstacles overcome in the name of love.
You guys already know that I am a huge fan of intimate weddings, but Dan + Vera’s I feel like really show case how fun and how gorgeous a smaller wedding can really be!
